After transitioning out of pediatric care in my late teens and studying government in college, I realized there were shortcomings in U.S. healthcare norms. In adulthood, face time with your doctor is often brief, and there are few feedback loops for the healthcare apparatus to know whether prescribed medical therapies are effective or even being utilized at all. Despite our enormous wealth, the United States has generally worse and more uneven health outcomes than other developed countries. It is unacceptable to allow subpar health outcomes to continue, so working for a company that mitigates these fills me with a sense of purpose.
